Every now and then, you stumble upon a place that feels like it was made just for you, and for me, that place is Robin’s Bakery in Nijmegen. This charming home bakery and café, owned by the lovely Robin herself, is a 100% dedicated gluten-free haven. Yes, you read that right, everything is safe for Coeliacs! No cross-contamination worries here, just pure indulgence and peace of mind.

On the 11th of October 2025, I had the absolute privilege of attending one of Robin’s famous gluten-free high teas, and let me tell you, it was everything a tea lover’s heart could dream of. From the moment I walked in, Robin welcomed me personally, she’s not only the owner, but also the baker and the barista (talk about multitasking goals!).

The atmosphere was instantly cozy and inviting, think soft chatter, warm lighting, and the scent of freshly baked goodness wafting through the air. And for those sunny days, there’s even a beautiful garden where you can sip your tea surrounded by blooms.

The High Tea Experience 🍓🫖

The high tea consisted of two generous courses. We started with a refreshing yogurt and muesli bowl topped with fresh berries, paired with a tea of our choice. And if you know me, you know I love a teapot-and-tiny-cup moment, it’s the ultimate cozy girl ritual. Bonus points: all the teas are completely gluten-free too.

Then came the second course, and trust me, this is where the magic happened. A gorgeous selection of sandwiches, cakes, brownies, and sweet treats arrived at the table, beautifully presented on tiered stands that looked straight out of a fairytale.

The beetroot and walnut sandwich was a savoury dream, earthy and fresh in all the right ways. But the real star for me? The almond, vanilla, and fig cake, perfectly moist, delicately sweet, and honestly one of the best gluten-free cakes I’ve ever had. You could truly taste the love in every bite.

The Perfect Ending 💕

The portions were incredibly generous (a rare and welcome treat for a high tea!), so I was delighted when we were offered takeaway boxes. Yes, that means gluten-free snacks for the entire week, a win in my book!

If you’re ever in Nijmegen and craving a special gluten-free experience, I highly recommend booking a spot at Robin’s Bakery. Between the heartwarming hospitality, the safe and scrumptious treats, and the charming atmosphere, it’s truly a gem for anyone who loves good food and cozy vibes.

Trust me, once you’ve tried her high tea, you’ll be counting down the days until your next visit. 💕
